At the end of the 1980s, SIAD targeted the Central European markets and immediately thereafter the regions of Eastern Europe.
In 1989, SIAD Austria was founded in Vienna and in 1990 the joint-venture ISTRAGAS (today ISTRABENZ PLINI) in Slovenia.
The internationalisation process led to a rapid expansion of new companies: SIAD Czech, MONTKEMIJA (Croatia), SIAD Hungary, SIAD
Romania, SIAD Bulgaria and SIAD Slovakia.
In 2004 ISTRABENZ PLINI took over control of MONTKEMIJA and, more recently, the company expanded also in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In 2007, SIAD founded two new companies in Ukraine and in Russia: SIAD Ukraina and SIAD RUS.
