The Hippodrome in Most hosts the entertaining SIAD Golden Cup – Jockey Club Prize

The racing season on the modern racetrack in Most continued with the third racing day on Saturday 12th July. As usual, it featured five flat races and two hurdle runs. Top of the programme was the SIAD Golden Cup - the Jockey Club CR Prize, an event which has been held at the Most Hippodrome since the very beginning – now in its eleventh edition.

For the main race on the two-kilometre track, 12 top horses were registered, three of them three year olds - Shaakey (jockey - Resulov), The Joe Mcardle (jockey - Lukášek) and Lucky Horse (jockey- René Koplík). The only four year old was Lord Silvano (jockey - Chaloupka); then, there was 5 year old Alain (jockey - Rája). In the six-year old category were Paldox (jockey - Srnec), Dandys (Zatloukal) and Arbeccar (jockey - Minařík); then, for the seven year olds, Torlus (jockey - Janáček) and Sedar (jockey - René Koplík), and the oldest horse - nine year old Ixos (jockey - Pavlíček).
In the main race, the National Listed (SIAD Golden Cup) 2800 metres, 10 horses participated. The favourite was Torlus (jockey-Václav Janáček). Most of the time, Torlus was in about fourth place; in the finishing straight, he moved into the lead and , at the end of the race, succeeded in comfortably maintaining the lead. Torlus, from the Ereka stable finished first, two and half lengths ahead of Paldox (jockey -Srnec). Sedar (jockey - René Koplík) came third, fourth was Lord Silvano (jockey - Chaloupka) followed by Alain (jockey - Rája). Václav Janáček has been Torlus’ jockey since last season. They will soon take part in the race in Karlovy Vary . Just before the start, Arbeccar (jockey - Ferdinand Minařík, which had a good chance) was withdrawn from the racing line up for medical reasons. The whole race proceeded without a hitch except for when the nine-year old bay, Ixos (jockey - Jakub Pavlíček), fell in the finishing straight.
The main trophy of the race day, the SIAD Golden Cup - the Jockey Club Prize –went to victorious Václav Janáček who received it from Mr. Jan Korba, Finance Director of the main sponsor SIAD Czech, spol. s r.o..
